BMB does not only grow blueberries, it grows people as well. It created careers for several ordinary labourers that progressed to the various levels of management. Workers are transported for free to the workplace, permanent workers get paid above the minimum wage rates and production and incentive bonuses are paid.
In association with the Waitrose Foundation, BMB has built beautiful worker facilities at Hiltop and Sinksa, ran several interesting training courses and installed a solar project that funds community expenditure to crèches in the townships, and make quarterly payments to the BMB Social Development Trust.
